Visiting Tétouan, Morocco.

This morning we took a 20 minute taxi ride from Marina Smir to Tétouan, We visited the medina, the old town, which is an amazing maze of small and narrow streets. All along those streets one can find fresh food markets  with all kinds of local products. Also a huge number of small and darkish shops, with almost no store front, where artisans perform their craft; weavers, tailors, shoemakers…

There we also visited a Berber Co-Op store where we browsed through all those hand woven authentic and most beautiful carpets and handcrafted furniture.

After a lunch of Moroccan shishkebab and couscous we went to this store that it’s both spice and herb place and traditional natural healing remedies pharmacy. There Joanna had a knee massage with Argan oil which is unique to Morocco as the tree plant that is used to its production is endemic to this country.

Tomorrow we’ll be under way again, going East along Moroccan cost.
