We arrived in Saint Martin on Fat Tuesday so rightfully, we expected both festivities and great food. We were not disappointed. After all, Saint Martin is one of a few crossroads of French and Caribbean cultures in this area of the World.
When we arrived in Saint Martin, it was just after 12:00 PM/noon which means ‘le dejenuer’ for the French and will not be taken lightly. This meant we had to anchor at the Marina Saint Louis entrance and wait until 2PM when it reopened! Once docked and cleared, we went to town to enjoy their version of Fat Tuesday celebrations.
There was a grand stage deployed in the town center where many local reggae and Caribbean musicians performed that night.
Many local restaurants set up BBQ and grilling stations to expand on their every day menu.
All restaurants were open late into the night and serving very flavorful and tasty food!
‘Chez Coco’ was one of our favorites for Caribbean fare!
Great Caribbean food of Saint Martin.
