Île Fourchue

“Île Fourchue, also known as Île Fourche is an island between Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin, belonging to the Collectivity of Saint Barthélemy. The island’s inside is privately owned. It is located about 3 NM north-west of the island of Saint Barthelemy.” – Wikipedia

In the early morning of February 23, we raised our anchor and sailed away from Gustavia toward Île Fourchue which made for a very short and pleasant trip. Arriving early rewarded us with an almost empty anchorage as most of boats leave in the morning to cruise to their next destination.

This place is great and quiet at night. However, during the day, it may be noisy and quite busy as many boats full of people come from St. Barts for a day jaunt. It’s a great place to have a short dip, an on-board BBQ, and a drink!

We had a great two night stay there, bu we soon had to continue on!
