:Last night, while motorsailing to our next anchorage at Puenta de Espato all of sudden my transmission started to slip.At first I was thinking I got a fouled propeller as we were just passing some net’s floaters. Since it was going for a few more moments I stopped the engine. Pulling the transmission dipstick revealed thick pink foam instead of clear oil. I guess my transmission oil cooler had sprung a leak so sea water got into the oil.
At that time I’d decided to turn around and head to Torrevieja where we were able to get a berth at Real Club Nautico.
Now I have to either find a mechanic or a replacement cooler, whichever comes quicker and swap it. Then oil has to be flushed repeatedly in order to clean up it well.
