New upgrade.

I’ve spent this morning on upgrading my room engine fire suppression system. Out went old fire extinguishers with their supports.

In their place I’ve put a brand new, US made Fireboy-Xintex, USCG certified automatic fire suppression system, rated to up to 100 cuft. of space. It deploys Halon agent when the engine room internal temperature  reaches 175°F (78°C). At the same time engine will be stopped as will be engine room blowers. This is to prevent the extinguishing agent from being sucked into the engine or to the outside by the blowers, which will render the whole suppression system useless.

Now we’re pretty much secured against engine room fire!
