I spent this morning trying to fix the broken ‘steaming light’. Climbed the main mast up to the spreaders where the light is located and remove its bulb. Climbed down, checked the bulb. It worked fine so I climbed up again and put it back. Tomorrow morning I have to go up the mast again and have a closer look at the light as a whole.
The other problem I’ve been working for a few last days was to make my laptop, using ‘SeaTTY’ software receive and decode NAVTEX (those are local warning to mariners including weather updates) messages received by short wave radio. So far no results. The problem is the those broadcasts are done twice daily, in my current are at 1140 and 2240, so I have such a small window for testing.
Afternoon has been a search on line to get a complement of paper charts to cover my route from Port Napoleon to Gibraltar.
Next in my plans, some pleasure stroll around, since the weather is so nice. And a dinner later on, but this not before 8PM, it’s Mediterranean after all!
Maciej.
Charts – found when in Croatia the Navionics charts were great – good detail etc etc – can get for whole of Europe
Thanks Stewie. I’ve got a Raymarine chartplotter that uses Navionics.
