'Jemm of the Sea II' Sailing Blog

Container diving.

Well, for about a week I had been sure that I have had pulled all needed stuff and documents from whatever I was loading into my containers. Then on this past Monday, I realized that I cannot locate my ASA certification and documents. In general, it is not a big deal until you sail in Europe where some countries may ask you to show a proof of sailing competency.

At first I thought that my filing cabinet was in the container which I’m currently packing, and which is seating in my driveway. Not true, which I did not realize until I already unloaded a good half of it. So I had to request to have my first container being pulled out of the climate controlled storage area so I may get to it content.

We drove to Coppell, TX, where our storage is located,  this morning. After unloading of the first 4-5ft. of depth from the door opening I was able to get to my filing cabinet and I pulled out my ASA log book and all certifications!  Huge sigh of relief! All in all we lost a perfect 3 hours this beautiful morning. What a drag!
