Yes, we’ve got it. This was my propane locker after I removed it this past December<\/p>\n

and I tried to fix it. It was leaking both into and around it, to the inside of the boat. Some good folks at the local small boat shipyard, globalnautic.com, suggested it could either fix it by applying a layer of epoxy with glass mat or by getting a new one. I decided to get a new one. To make sure, to get a new one, the only place was old, good USA. We’ve tried to locate one around EU to no avail. After ordering one from Westmarine.com, it arrived in two days, with the help of the French customs and taxation office of course, which asked me to pay 240 euros just in duties and VAT!<\/p>\n

Then I had the Globalnautic guy over to install it on the boat. He’s done a great job and in a very short time. And now the new propane locker looks like that:<\/p>\n

\"20150127_160608\"<\/a>However after it was installed into our boat we hit a snag again. How to connect 3\/8″ flare fitting to the European standard\u00a0 8 mm O.D. copper tube which supplies propane to my appliances? I was able to locate several places that manufacture an elbow fitting with a 8 mm compression connection on one side and 3\/8″ NPT on the other. I could\u00a0 use it to replace an original 3\/8″ flare x 3\/8″ NPT elbow. The only place that could deliver it quickly was the Israeli manufacturer Ham-Let. It priced it at $13.84 on which value Frenchies asked me to pay, once again, VAT and duties in the amount of 24.80 euros!!!<\/p>\n

This afternoon I installed this new fitting and re-run a piece of a copper tube for the following result:<\/p>\n

BTW. After letting down for a day Mistral returned this afternoon with 6 to 7 Beaufort force.<\/p>\n
