We first visited Alicante in 2015 while sailing our former Amel, Euros 41′. We enjoyed the town so much that we always wanted to return. <\/p>\n

The Castle of Santa B\u00e1rbara, located on top of Mount Benacantil, is the defining feature of Alicante. Located in the heart of the city, it gives it an unmistakable profile recognizable throughout the world.<\/p>\n

We really appreciate Alicante for the vibrant culinary scene that we love to enjoy while we visit. There’s a number of great tapas places, like Cervecer\u00eda Sento Rambla, a small food-stand or hole-in-a-wall type place with great ambiance and even better food. It’s always crowded, even on weeknights!<\/p>\n

The other great tapas place we enjoyed so much in Alicante was Manero Tapas & Delicatessen. It’s slightly more upscale than Cervecer\u00eda Sento with prices and ambiance to match.<\/p>\n

While sailing to Alicante, we had some issues with out genoa furling system along our route. The upper furler swivel pins caught one of our spare halyards preventing the genoa from furling and bending the pins. Luckily, I was able to find a local stainless steel fabricator to cut and weld me a new set of those pins! <\/p>\n

Once the repairs were done, we were ready to cast off and continue our sailing route to Gibraltar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
